Adelaide residents 'enjoy high standard of living'

Adelaide has been voted the eighth most liveable city in the world.
Individuals considering relocating to an Australian property could find their ideal home in Adelaide following the results of a recent survey.

The city, which tied equally with Perth, was recently voted the eighth most liveable city in the world as part of a survey carried out by the Economist Intelligence Unit.

Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood has expressed his delight about the results and suggested that the southern Australian location could take the top spot in the coming years.

The study saw Melbourne steal the crown from the Canadian city of Vancouver for the first time in almost a decade, with Sydney also featuring in the top ten.

"Adelaide is an enviable city in which to live and the council has ambitious plans to make it even better with infrastructure improvements to Rundle Mall and Victoria Square," Mr Yarwood added.

Last month, Adelaide City Council announced that cyclists in the city would be set to benefit from a range of new safety projects, including bicycle lanes, as a result of a recent funding injection.
