Australia the preferred work location for Brits

A high number of Brits would like to move to property in Australia, a recent study has suggested.
Australia is the favourite when it comes to the country that most people would like to move abroad to work in, a study has found.

Research conducted by Currencies.co.uk revealed that almost a third of people working in the UK are considering moving abroad to work.

Stephen Hughes, director at the website, said that the current employment situation in the UK could force more young people to seek employment overseas.

"This study demonstrates a severe lack of confidence in the employment situation in the UK, particularly among younger age groups," he said.

Mr Hughes went on to say that not all of the people who said they were considering a move would end up actually doing so, but many would.

He added that a dramatic increase has been seen in the number of people transferring money for housing deposits, having secured work overseas, since the start of the economic crisis.

Earlier this year, Amanda Lamb, presenter of Channel 4 television programme A Place in the Sun, said that she owns a house in Italy, but that if she could choose anywhere in the world to own a property it would be in Margaret River, in Western Australia.
