Those investing in Australian property may be interested to learn of one of the main reasons so many tourists flock to the Western Australia town of Esperance each year, highlighted by a new magazine poll.
In the latest issue of RAC magazine, the Ten Best list has described the region's coastline as "some of the best coastal scenery Australia has to offer".
Esperance's Great Ocean Drive, a picturesque 38km road route stretching along the country's coastline, topped the poll, surpassing the scenic drives of Boranup Drive in Margaret River and Swan Valley's Food and Wine Drive to name just two of its rivals.
Heather Gee, chairperson of the Esperance Regional Tourism Association, said: "People are realising how beautiful our town is and are comparing it to other places in Australia. We need to be more knowledgeable about the local attractions and not just about the beaches."
Earlier this week, Mark Delaney, chief investment officer for Australia's leading superannuation fund AustralianSuper, told the Business Spectator that now is a good time to be investing in Australian property.
