Home sales up 0.6% in September

Sales of new homes increased by 0.6% in September, breaking four consecutive months of declines, according to the latest results from the Housing Industry Association. However, the figures show sales have fallen 14% for the three months ending 30 September, and sales are still 15% lower when compared with the same period in 2009.
