Housing bubble debate scheduled for June

Amanda Lynch, chief executive officer at the Real Estate Institute of Australia, is to take part in a debate on the so-called housing bubble in the Australian property market.

A debate on the so-called housing bubble in the Australian property market is to take place next month.

The event will be held on June 7th at the Wesley Conference Centre on Pitt Street in Sydney.

Amanda Lynch, chief executive officer at the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA), is one of the people set to participate in the live panel discussion.

"The debate aims to put all the opposing opinions on one stage and have a not-to-be-missed discussion about house prices and where the market is headed," a statement from the REIA reads.

Others set to attend the event include Shane Oliver, who is chief economist at AMP Capital Markets, and Dr Tony Hayek, chief executive officer at Blue Wealth.

Earlier this month, the REIA published a report that rubbishes claims of a bubble in the Australian property market and explains why the speculation of its presence is misinformed.
