An industry expert considers Australia to be an ideal vacation spot, which could boost the number of people using Australian property.
Carolyn Spencer Brown, editor-in-chief at Cruise Critic, said trips down under are ideal for boating vacations because the country is just so big.
"Cities are incredibly spread out," she said, likening the region to South America and adding that boating around the area is a good way of seeing "really disparate" places.
"You've got the Great Barrier Reef for beaches and diving and then fantastic cities like Melbourne and Sydney," she continued.
In addition, Ms Spencer Brown noted that those on cruise ship tours to Australia can also spend time in Perth and the wine country, potentially boosting Australian property in the area as people look for places to stay.
Her comments come in response to figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which revealed a record high number of visitors to the continent in 2009, with 12.4 million overseas arrivals registered.
