The Australian government has issued a warning to any potential immigrants that a visa application should only be filed once all the necessary background checks have been conducted, in order to prevent people from wasting time and money on a futile application.
The announcement comes as Breakthrough Migration Solutions release a statement indicating a higher number of expected applications for the coming year, with the 2012-13 Migration Program being set at 190,000 places.
However, a spokesperson for the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship has insisted that all visa hopefuls must undertake a skills assessment before submitting their Expression of Interest form, otherwise they risk instant rejection.
The skills assessment is a necessary step in the Australian visa application process, as it helps identify the most suitable occupation for an applicant, therefore enabling the government to determine what benefit each potential immigrant is likely to bring to Australian society as a whole.
Places in the country’s General Skilled Migration program are highly sought after, which is why skipping this step is likely to lead to disappointment.
