On March 20th Australian property owners in Tasmania will be able to vote in the assembly general election.
The electoral rolls close on February 19th and nominations will be officially announced on March 5th.
Anyone who has moved to a new Australian house or has not yet enrolled is urged to ensure their details are correct with the electoral office as soon as possible.
Both enrolment and voting are compulsory, with a fine of AU$20 (£11.50) for those who do not make their opinion heard.
Polling stations are generally open from 08:00 to 18:00 local time and while proxy voting in federal elections is not offered, postal voting can be arranged.
Provision is also made for pre-poll votes cast in person and absent voting for those who cannot get to a polling station on the day of the election.
Mobile polling teams are also used to ensure those in hospitals, nursing homes, remote areas and prisons can vote.
