Time is right for overseas investors

Rent conditions mean investors from around the world are looking at buying Australian property.

Australia has been recommended as an ideal place for property investment because of its stable economy and high standards of living.

A report by EmbraceAustralia.com said that the housing market down under is the opposite of the UK, where prices have dropped over the past five years or so.

"Unlike the UK, Australia’s property is primarily single story but like the UK the easiest way to make a profit is to find something under market value and to renovate or choose an area undergoing regeneration," advised Robert Pearce, writing for the advice site.

He added that now is an "excellent time" to be investing in buy-to-let property in Australia, as the high prices mean that first-time buyers are struggling to get on the ladder.

Recently, Grant King, director of the Migration Bureau, said that people looking to invest in Australian property should jump at the chance while they are still eligible for a visa.
